(2) White button down shirt.
(3) Couple of scoop neck tee shirts in black and white.
(4) Classic dress pant, flat front, wide or boot leg. Can be any color, but black is a good bet.
(5) High quality sweater.
(6) Skirt, pencil or A line in a neutral fabric to mix and match.
(7) Tailored jacket to match your pants.
(8) Handbag that will go with anything.
(9) Classic pump, black.
(10) Sporty classic black leather jacket.
(11) Great pair of jeans.
(12) Don't forget the well fitting undergarments.

Remember you are an individual and as such should tailor your wardrobe to meet your unique attributes and needs.

Elements of Dress - Step One

When planning your wardrobe you should consider the climate that you live in. Cotton might be more practical in a warm climate, where wool would be more functional in a cold climate. Also you should consider if you want to invest in special care items such as silk, linen or ramie. If you love these fabrics and don't mind the extra care, then go for it!

If you travel a lot, you need to give extra consideration to how well the fabric travels. Fabrics that travel well are polyester, nylon and spandex blends.

Another consideration is whether the items fit properly. Classic lines that do not go out of style are a good choice, but consider your body type. Make sure that outdated items are recycled (donate, donate, donate). Worn items that no longer have a life, trash would be best. If your into recycling, old sweaters make great hats and scarves. (Takes a little sewing knowledge. Check out MissDeeClutter, Recycle articles.)

Take a couple of crates or bins, organize by season to wear. Also a couple for donate, recycle, so on. Keep in your closet if you have room, on the floor. This is a convenient way to keep your closet from getting cluttered by unused items. When full donate, store, trash as determined. Label appropriately for easy access.

Meme's Hot Buttered Rum

Wish I had better news. Well better days ahead because I am still under the weather, so I have decided to serve my famous Meme's Hot Buttered Rum. It goes like this:

2 - 4 teaspoons brown sugar (for low carber's Splenda Brown Sugar Blend works well)

1 T. honey

twist of lemon

2 T. water

Place in mug and heat until melted (approx 30 seconds).
Add 1/2 cup of half and half or cream

Heat til hot (do not boil), add generous shot of rum (I like Flur de Cana)

Melt 1-2 T butter and float on top

I like mine without spices, but you could add to taste with the brown sugar.
